After two months of building, Volvo ICE CAMP powered by Ovi.com opened its icy doors for the fourth time on Saturday, January 16th 2010. The crystal-clear igloo landscape at the Kitzsteinhorn will be opened for visitors until short after Easter. It took over 60 tonnes of ice, 5,000 m³ of snow and countless man hours to build the world’s highest-elevation (and probably most impressive) Volvo show room. The core of the 5,000 m2 large area is made up of four interconnected main igloos, which – besides the Volvo show room – house an ice bar, an ice lounge, and a separate dining area with two large ice tables. Real adventurers spend a night on a bed made of snow and ice in one of the seven sleep igloos at 2,500 metres above sea level.
